This Year's Model Updates:

For 2004, the Grand Cherokee gets a factory-installed DVD navigation system integrated into the radio. Columbia, Freedom and Special Edition trims are also new for 2004. All of these models incorporate subtle cosmetic touches and equipment upgrades. Additionally, each Columbia Edition Jeep comes with a complimentary Columbia parka.

Pros:
  • Powerful 4.7-liter V8, all-terrain capability, roomy comfort for four.
Cons:
  • Noisy and unrefined, questionable reliability, trucklike on-road handling.

Absolutely love my Jeep. Very fun to drive and it looks great. It has turned a lot of heads. Although it calls for premium fuel I have run a mixture of low-mid-premium without any problems of knocking.

  • Solid feel - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive owned several Jeeps, Every vehicle has been reliable & I particularly like the "secure" feeling of knowing that when the 4X4 stick is engaged, a whole different vehicle emerges. Not like other 4 wheel SUVs, this has a "solid feel."

I have had this vehicle for 6 months, but I can say that it is worth every penny I paid.

I dont own a grand cherokee yet but thinking about buying it for a while. I owed many different cars but never US. I never trusted cars made in US such as ford, chrysler or GM. I work for an extended aftermarket warranty and I have to say Ford GM and Chrysler are amonge the worst vehicle out there. The reason I want Grand Cherokee laredo is simple its very relible and engine is just phenomenal. This is only veh I have no problems with and very little claim comes from laredo. I would recommend laredo to anyone who is looking for Grand Cherokee. Engine is excelent, that is the only reason I would buy it.

  • common sense on gas mileage - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I average 19mpg and that is not bad for a 4x4.I have gotten 23.5 on interstate driving. Front seats are much more comfortable than any other suv I have driven. Traction is good. The only problem I have had was a leaking windshield. Body roll is a tad excessive, but overall ride is great for a 4x4 that I am not afraid to take on a mountain farm road! A bit noisyer than I expected. Belongs to my wife and she likes it better than I do. I drive a 95 YJ!

  • New Jeep is nice - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I really like the towing power on the weekends and the sporty feel driving to and from work every day. The size of this SUV makes parking and backing up easier than the bigger trucks. Like my last Jeep, I can tell that when the newness wears off Ill still have a tough and rugged vehical.

I have had my Grand Cherroke since July 03, mostly street use. L.A. and Orange county freeways. The tires are my only complaint. Contact me at laazerdude@yahoo.com for details. I use my jeep mainly for business, I have kept a religous service record. I will remain a Jeep owner, I have considered other makes, read alot of material. NOTHING in our driving experience as a vechile that HAS to be used for work will compare: dollar for dollar.

  • Excellent on road and off - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The 2004 Overland is loaded and looks great. It is smoother and quieter than the 2001 Limited model. Set up of interior is excellent. HO engine is fast and smooth.
